Week 18 Update

Y'all I'm bad at taking those weekly pictures :( I'm so sorry!  And by the time this gets posted I will actually be 19 weeks BUT at least I'm doing an update this week! Ha!

How far along? 18 weeks 5 days
Total weight gain: About 6 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Nothing yet!
Stretch marks? None.
Sleep: Still having trouble sleeping on my side but once I fall asleep I have no trouble sleeping.  Although my dreams have started to get really weird!
Best moment this week: Possibly feeling the baby move. I'm not confident that it was movement but it was a very different feeling from the norm.
Miss anything? Mimosas. :(
Movement: Possibly, I usually feel something late in the afternoon/early evening. And then right when I lay down!
Food cravings:  Brownies....all week.  And macarons.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing.
Gender: We find out next week!!!! I still think girl!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: I've had it pretty easy lately, sore boobs seems to be it!
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy for the most part (I have some moments lol)
Looking forward to: My ultrasound at 19 weeks!

I will try to get better at these! We've gotten behind because I like taking the pictures at our house and we haven't been able to go in and look as often as we were at first!
Hopefully you'll see my 19 week update in the next few days! :)

See y'all soon!

XOXO.

Week 15 Update

So I recently started reading a blog, Anna Saccone, and throughout her pregnancies she did a weekly questionnaire that I thought I'd start (although I'm starting a little late). Hope you enjoy!

15 Weeks!
How far along? 15 weeks & 1 day (technically 2 days by the time this gets posted!)
Total weight gain: About 4-5 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Nothing yet!
Stretch marks? No more than I had before my pregnancy!
Sleep: I'm not having trouble getting to sleep, though I haven't found a comfortable way to sleep on my side!  I feel like my poor husband keeps waking up just to tell me to roll over! HA!
Best moment this week: Finally seeing a "bump"....whether everyone else sees it or not!! ;)
Miss anything? Not really!
Movement: Nothing yet!
Food cravings:  I haven't really had any cravings!  I've wanted to request strange foods to my husband but Baby D hasn't had any such requests!
Anything making you queasy or sick? I hadn't noticed anything making me queasy until Sunday when someone brought in cooked fish.  I wasn't a fan BEFORE I was pregnant and my enhanced sense of smell has only made it worse!
Gender: We don't know yet.  I think girl!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Sore boobs, dry skin ( I have dry skin already but I've noticed it getting worse), and headaches. :(  The headaches have been pretty awful too!
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!  Though I definitely have my moments!
Looking forward to: My 15 week doctor appt!

Alright, that's all for now! :)

See y'all soon!

XOXO.

Birchbox Review: July

It's that time again!

I received my Birchbox this week and decided since I'd posted once this week I should probably just go ahead and write a review.

Before I jump in and start the review of the products....I am LOVING this box.  The pattern is adorable!  However, the items IN the box....this was the first time I have ever been disappointed with the majority of the box.  I will say that I still have managed to not get the same sample twice, which is pretty impressive, but I still wasn't loving this month's samples.

1. dr. brandt microdermabrasion skin exfoliant, Full-size $78

This was one of 2 items I was excited to get.  Though to be fair, I feel like I get a facial cleanser/exfoliant/etc in every box and I am beginning to hate that.  I haven't found my "holy grail" yet, and at this point I think my face is getting tired of trying all the new products! HA!

2. Miracle Skin Transformer Body SPF 20, Full-size $34

Here's where the disappointment begins.  While the sample is for "the body" the sample is quite small.  I can't imagine I'll get more than one use out of it and that's disappointing because it is supposed to give a "temporary glow" and I'm all about that in the summer.  I'm hoping that with one use I can tell whether I'd want to purchase the full size.

3. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, Full-size $22-42

Honestly I should be more excited about this product.  It's a cult favorite and I'm sure it works on most hair types, but not on mine.  I will continue to use this and hopefully I can make it work because it is a great sample size and it's a good company but texturizing sprays are just not my thing.

4. still look at me liquid lipstick, Full-size Set of 3, $20

Listen y'all....I got to choose the color I wanted for this since they have 3 different color options.  I, of course, chose red.  OBSESSED!  I LOVE liquid lipsticks.  The smell is so good and the formula is great, going on like a gloss and working like a stain.  I couldn't wait to get my box just for this one item and the color was exactly what I expected. I MAY have to order the set so I can try out the other 2 colors.

5. Supergoop! Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30, Full-size $42

Listen, I know how important SPFs are, especially in the summer, but why did I have to get 2 sunscreens?!  I was mostly disappointed with the fact I was given 2 sunscreens.  I'm sure this is a good product, and I will use it, I just wish I could've gotten a different sample.

Closing Thoughts

This wasn't the most disappointing box!  It's just the first time that I've not been impressed with the items in my box.  I still believe that Birchbox is worth the money, even if I wasn't satisfied with the samples, the sizes for 4 of the 5 items were great.

I'm Baaaaaaaack!

Hey y'all!

So I took a longer break than I had anticipated but this year has been a very busy one!  We've had some good and some bad happen (I'll leave out the bad because honestly I'm not ready to talk about it!).  But I'll let y'all in on all the awesome things that are going on that have kept me from being dedicated to the blog.

First of all, we started building our house! (I'm taking a minute to have a little panic attack..............okay I'm good!)  It is so exciting to go by and see what's been done!  The house has been "in the works" for a while now but we started on it this year and I cannot wait to get in and start decorating!

This was a few weeks ago, I don't have a newer picture! :(

Secondly, we are having a baby!!!

How we announced on Facebook :)

When I found out at the end of April, my plan was to start blogging again and do creative little weekly updates but life happened and I just never started this back up.  That's my bad!  I'll add the unoriginal bump pictures we've taken up to this point and maybe I'll keep up with this and do weekly updates!

12 Weeks, the picture was taken in the room that will be Baby's nursery :)
13 Weeks! Didn't get a chance to go to the house for this one.
14 weeks (Forgive me, I dress for comfort these days! Ha!)  Freshly primed walls behind me ;)

So needless to say we are going to have our hands full the next year, with moving and having a little one and trying to furnish a new home (my taste is all a little too pricey for our budget...of course! Ha!)

I thought I'd update y'all on my life since I promised to be back in January and it's now July! :( I'm the worst!! Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things soon!  I know this was a short post but I felt like I owed y'all some info!!

See you soon!

Berries For Days!

Hey y'all! So today I figured I'd post a little Christmas-y DIY!  I made a couple of these a couple years ago as gifts for my mother-in-law and aunt!  This isn't going to be a step by step, so it's gonna be a pretty short one today!

I actually found something similar on Pinterest that made me want to make these.  It seemed simple enough!  But little word of warning, if you do it exactly like me, it's not simple at all. Ha!!
So I went to Hobby Lobby (because...I'm obsessed) and purchased a couple large "D"'s and then ran over to the floral department and bought as many clusters of red berries as I could find and a roll of burlap.

I ran home and got started.  I painted the D a brown color, took all the little plastic berries off, and started hot gluing them to the D.  One by one.  I have to tell you, there has to be a better method to getting all those plastic berries onto the letter, BUT as time consuming as it was, I LOVED the way it turned out!

If you are going to make this, and make it the way I did, be ready with LOTS and LOTS of hot glue sticks.

Once all the berries were on the letter, I had my husband make a bow for it.  He doesn't like it, but he's the bowmaker in our house! :)

They were time consuming, but turned out great! My mother-in-law keeps hers out pretty much year-round since it matches her house!

What are y'all's favorite Christmas gift DIY's?

See you soon!

XOXO.

Christmas Party Looks

I meant to do this post last week, BEFORE the first Christmas party of the season...but our internet kept me from it.  So, since I'm attending another this weekend, I'll just go ahead and do it anyway!

Of course, my outfit from last weekend is a great Christmas party look ;) but since I've already written about it, I will refrain!

The next few weeks are filled with parties, shopping, eating, and gifting.  Ugh, who couldn't love the holidays?!  But what to wear?  A couple of these looks will work for a Christmas or New Year's party, and some are a little more casual than others! I love that these looks are versatile!

I've noticed that this holiday season, outfits have been full of sequins and plaid.  I for one am loving it!

Outfit #1

I love this casual look! It can be worn for a Christmas or New Year's bash!
The jeans listed on this are 7 For All Mankind.  I prefer to get my jeans from American Eagle, but to each their own!
For the tank, I couldn't find one exactly like the one above, but Forever 21 has a couple cute sequined tops!  There's one, here for $12.90! They also have a pair of high heeled booties for $34.90 (here)!
Charlotte Russe has an adorable blazer (here) for $32.99
Lastly, an adorable black clutch from Target for $19.99 (here)

Holiday Party Recap!

I apologize about not posting on Friday, our internet was down so I spent the entire day cooking and packing and getting ready for a busy weekend!

It was my in-law's annual Holiday Party this past weekend!

The party was an absolute success!  After all of the preparing and running around and decorating, the night was so much fun!  I love getting to be a part of their parties, especially when I can cook (I secretly really enjoy it, don't tell my husband he will want me to cook more! Ha!)!

The hardest part of getting ready for Saturday......figuring out what to wear!  I have a closet FULL of clothes, but none of them seemed to work.  So Saturday morning was spent running around town trying to find something to wear.  Here is what I ended up wearing!

The booties were a clearance purchase at Target a couple years ago! The tights are from Kohl's.  The skirt I borrowed from a friend, and I got the sweater at Target (you can find it here)
I loved it!  It was so comfy but dressy!
For my jewelry, I wore earrings and a necklace from LC Lauren Conrad (earrings here, I couldn't find the necklace online, but here is a little something similar).

Here are a few photos from the evening.  I didn't take a lot of pictures this year....hopefully next year!

My Dill Pickles! :) Love my girls!
